How to Play

Since we were playing as a review, we used all of the pieces in both the addition and the subtraction set.

We spread out the groundhog numbers so that we could quickly see them, and piled up the hole and dirt equations in a stack to pull from.

This Groundhog Day Math Facts Game includes both an addition and subtraction version!

We took turns pulling a hole and dirt card and reading the equation. Then we solved the equation and found its matching groundhog. If we needed to, we used the number line to help us out.

Teacher Tip: If the number lines are laminated, students can use dry erase markers to solve the equations!

To play, students solve the equations and find the matching groundhog answer cards.

We kept pulling equations and matching them up until they had all been solved!
