Summertime is here and Father’s Day is just around the corner! Deciding on a Father’s Day gift for your child or student to make can sometimes be a tough decision. A favorite of mine for many holidays are handprint crafts. I think they are so unique and special. Best of all, they are simple! This Father’s Day Handprint Gift is a quick and easy craft, and can be customized for grandpas, uncles, and even friends, too!

Father’s Day Handprint Gift

In my opinion, some of the best gifts are ones that bring back fond memories or make great keepsakes. This Father’s Day handprint gift will do both! Dads, or any important person, that receives this gift can look back years from now and see the little handprints that make this craft so special and unique. Let’s grab our supplies and get started!

For this craft all you need is some washable paint, construction paper, and the printable labels (download below). I like to laminate these handprint gifts when we are done so they will last for years to come, but this is optional.

Directions

This craft is so simple! Start by covering each kids’ hands with paint. Be sure to really cover their hands good to get the best handprint results!

Have them firmly press their painted hands onto the construction paper. Be sure the handprints are facing down to correspond with the “Hands down, you’re the best!” theme.

Allow the students to pick a gift label. There are options for dads, grandpas, uncles, and even a generic “You’re the best!” to be sensitive to the needs or situation of every child. Glue down the label above the handprints.

Write the child’s name and year in the corner. Lastly, laminate or frame the handprints to give to that special someone on Father’s Day!

You can also choose a different label to customize this gift for uncles!
