Teaching sight words is important – but it can also be tricky! Especially when you have early readers who read SO differently from one another, and you may need 10 different lists just to meet all their levels! (I don’t know about you, but that’s a lot of prep time.) These editable sight word games and centers are not only a super time-saver for teachers, but are super-engaging for students. With hands-on fun that works with ANY word list, there are sight word games for everyone!
Editable Sight Word Games and Centers
These sight word games are a teacher’s dream because they simplify your planning and make learning FUN for your kids!
Simply type ANY 18 words into the custom list creator, and it AUTOMATICALLY fills every activity with your chosen sight words in seconds!
These centers are non-seasonal (use them any time of year) and the possibilities are endless – create endless sets and combinations of sight word games!
Let’s take a peek inside…
Here’s a sneak peek at how easy it is! This what it looked like when I typed in my own words.
I typed them and then POOF! Those words I wanted were on every. single. game piece!
Play “Sight Word Sandwiches” as you match up words and record them on the optional recording sheet.
This lets you differentiate for your students as needed. Play a simple matching game, or add the recording sheets to a center for added writing practice and accountability.
Everyone loves gumballs! Build sight words with the gumballs, and then (if you choose to use it) record some words you build on the recording sheet.
Read and build words with “Sight Word Splat!” a fun, paint-themed sight word game. It also includes an optional recording sheet.
Then, grab some colorful crayons to trace over your sight words “rainbow writing” style!
Roll and graph your sight words using the included printable die, or cut out the cards and insert them into our favorite pocket dice! (We LOVE these)
Build up those fine motor skills by decorating your sight words with stickers, crayons, sequins, q-tips in paint – so many options!
This pack also includes a few magnetic letter activities, one of them is “read, build, write” to get students working with their sight words in a variety of ways.
Perhaps my favorite part of this pack is the easy-prep sight word mini-books.
When you type in your 18 words – 18 mini-books are INSTANTLY created for you!
You simply print, fold twice, and Ta-Da! You have books for your chosen sight words all ready to go.
Need more books as your kids grow or for a different group? Just go back and type new words into the custom word generator!
Grab Your Sight Word Games
These and many more activities are all included in the fun and motivating Print and Play Sight Words Centers pack.
You can create a set of activities for one group of students in seconds, save it to your computer, and then go and create a set of activities for another group of students using an entirely different list!
It’s a great way to keep learning centers fresh and exciting this year, to motivate our students, and make sure we can differentiate for them as they grow.
