Easter Egg Addition Activity

This time of year, who doesn’t love dying Easter eggs and going on an egg hunt? While this may not be possible (or easy) in a class full of Pre-K and Kindergarteners, you can still add some holiday fun into your small groups or math centers with this Easter addition activity!

This free download includes 2 different recording sheets for working on both addition within 5 and 10. That means this activity is great for differentiation!

How to Prep and Play!

To prep, start by printing and cutting out the basket equation cards. I like to laminate them so they hold up to little hands and it also means that after Easter, I can pack them away and they will be good as new the next year.

Next, grab some coloring tools and print the recording sheet that works for your kiddos. Now, you’re ready to play! Students can start pulling equation cards, adding the numbers, and “hunting” for the egg with the correct sum on the recording sheet. When they find it, they can get creative and decorate the Easter egg!

Teacher Tip: Save paper and add even more engagement to this addition activity by adding the recording sheet to a dry erase pocket sleeve and giving students dry erase markers to color with!

Students pick a basket card, solve the equation, and color the matching sum on the recording sheet.

Don’t wait! Grab this free activity today so your students can have some addition fun all season long!
