Amidst the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, I like to try to get myself prepared for January with simple winter themed learning activities. Then, when we return from winter break, we are ready to keep learning while having fun! These Winter Alphabet and Number Cards offer winter themed fun in the form of both reading and math games!

*Pair with our January Kindergarten Printables Bundle!

These free alphabet and number cards are the perfect winter themed math and literacy activities! Use them in your small groups or centers!

Winter Alphabet and Number Cards

These alphabet and number cards are perfect for the classroom because they can be used in so many different ways! With a set of numbers 1-20, letters A-Z, and a fun word game, we have several activities in one download! The best part – prep couldn’t be easier!

Just print, laminate, and cut out all of the cards! Laminating allows for repeated use and durability. This is especially useful if you are using these cards in your math and literacy centers.

That’s it! You’re ready to decide how you want to use them in your day!

Math Games

The number card set includes hot cocoa cards with numbers 1-20 and are perfect for number ordering! I like to put them in a pocket chart and then we order them as a class. We are working on teen numbers right now, so this works well!

Use the number set as counting cards with white pom poms as "marshmallow" counters!

Alternatively, you can pull two cards and find the sum, or use them as counting cards with white pom poms as “marshmallow” counters. Cotton balls make great “marshmallows” too!

Reading Games

The alphabet card set includes snowball cards with letters A-Z (in both upper and lowercase) and are perfect for abc order, letter matching, or word making! I also like to put these in a pocket chart and make words together as a whole group activity or mini-lesson.

The alphabet card set includes snowball cards with letters A-Z (in both upper and lowercase).

If you are making words with the snowballs, you can use the recording sheet to record them! Make CVC words, sight words, or whatever words you like! Then write them down on the lines. These cards are perfect for centers or a small group activity!
