Sunday Surprise! Resources for Pre-K and Kindergarten
The whole goal of The Kindergarten Connection is to help teachers plan fun and engaging activities for their students. So I love sending the weekly Sunday Surprise to your inbox and being part of your classroom each and every week.
Not only is this weekly email filled with teaching tips and information, the Sunday Surprise gives you a free, brand new activity every Sunday. These are low prep, high interest resources for Pre-K and Kindergarten that your students will love.
What Kind of Free Activities?
The Sunday Surprise is a fresh and relevant resource every week. It’s geared toward the time of year and particular skill you may be working on at that time.
Like the Teens Number Matching Game above. This was a Sunday Surprise resource that students and teachers loved! Students worked on their base 10/place value skills by matching the popsicle stick cards to the matching number.
Or this Gumball Matching Digraph Activity below. This literacy based activity was a hit in student centers as well! Students loved picking a picture card and finding the matching digraph on their recording sheet.
What teachers really love about the Sunday Surprise (besides the fact that they are completely free), is that they can receive a new resource for Pre-K and Kindergarten in their inbox on Sunday and use it in their classrooms on Monday morning.
Whether it’s math or literacy based, themed for the time of year or something you can use year round, Sunday Surprises are always low prep and easy for your students to understand.

So Many Ways to Play
Another great thing about the Sunday Surprise activities, is that there are so many ways to use them in your classroom.
Take this Rhyming Puzzles activity above. You could:
- Use this in a literacy center
- Have students play with a partner
- Use this activity with a small group
- Let a fast finisher play for extra practice
- Make it a grab bag or sensory bin activity
- Use it with the whole class during circle time
The options are endless!
