Eggs are such a fun theme for spring and especially the Easter season! Kids love to dye eggs, color eggs, hide eggs, and today I am excited to share with you an egg-themed activity that your students are going to love. This Sponge Painting Easter Art Activity is an easy and creative way to bring some Easter egg fun into your classroom this spring!

This Sponge Painting Easter Art Activity is an easy and creative way to bring some Easter egg fun into your classroom this spring!

Sponge Painting Easter Art Activity

Your students will adore this sponge painting project and will love seeing all of the egg-cellent art masterpieces! You can set this up in your art center or do this activity with your students in small groups.

When you’re finished, you could even place your unique creations on mini easels and host a classroom art walk!

Let’s get started with our simple supplies!

Supplies Needed:

  • Paint
  • Canvas
  • Sponges
  • Sharpie markers
  • Scissors
Grab some paint, sponges, a sharpie, scissors, and canvas to make this pretty Easter art.

How to Make the Easter Egg Art

To begin this Easter art activity, trace the shape of an egg onto a sponge. Do this for each color egg you’ll want to stamp so the colors don’t mix.

Use the sponge scraps to cut out additional shapes like a circle, triangle, or zig-zag lines.
