Easter eggs are a staple for the Easter season. Children love to dye eggs, color eggs, hide eggs, and today I am excited to share with you a new egg art project that your students are going to love! This Sponge Paint Easter Art project is a new, creative way to celebrate the Easter season in your classroom!
Pair it with our Easter Centers Pack for TONS of fun this season!
Sponge Paint Easter Art
Students will adore this sponge paint project and will admire one another’s egg-cellent art masterpieces! You can set this up in your art center or create with your students in small groups.
You might even place your student’s Easter Egg Canvas Art projects on mini easels and host a classroom art walk! Wouldn’t that be a sight to see and a memory they will never forget!
Steps for Craft Project
Trace the shape of an egg onto a sponge. Do this for each color egg you’ll want to stamp.
Cut out the egg shape from the sponges.
Use the sponge scraps to cut out shapes like a circle, triangle, or zig zag lines.
Dip the egg shaped sponges into paint and press them onto the canvas. Allow the paint to dry completely before decorating each egg.
Use the sponge shapes to add detail to each egg. Dip them into the paint and have some fun!
You might even cut some thin pointed lines from the sponges and add some grass blades at the bottom if you’d like.
Have an egg-cellent and egg-tra special Easter season with your students! Enjoy!
