How to Use the Teen Number Books

These books are a great way to practice reading number words while also strengthening counting skills. My favorite way to use them is in small groups. This allows me to model and practice each of the activities with my students.

After we have worked through a couple of books together in small groups, my kiddos are always excited to start interacting with them independently.

I like to give my students crayons or other fun writing utensils for working on the number tracing pages.

I like to give my students crayons, skinny markers, or other fun writing tools for working on the number tracing pages.

The “Highlight the Number” pages strengthen number recognition skills and the simple and fun pictures in each book are great for helping students practice one-to-one correspondence!

These emergent readers will help your students master their teen numbers.

When we finish working on our books the students can take them home to proudly show off their hard work!
