In Pre-K and Kindergarten classrooms you always feel like you are cleaning up or transitioning to a new task don’t you? That’s why a big part of my clean up and transition routine is centered around songs. Not only are my students trained to know exactly what to do when they hear that music go on, but a little music makes clean up time more fun. I’m excited to share Clean Up Songs that are perfect for Pre-K and Kindergarten!

Clean Up Songs That are Perfect for Transition Times

I love to incorporate music into my classroom and daily routines! Clean up and transition times are a perfect way to do that. My students know that when 5 Little Monkeys comes on they are to wrap up what they are working on, put away their supplies, tidy their area, and head to the carpet! They also know that they should be on the carpet ready to go by the end of Little Bunny Foo-Foo.

I personally chose these two songs, because I already had them on a CD! But you definitely want to choose songs that you enjoy, because let’s face it, by the end of the year, you will probably have listened to them about a thousand times!

When a song begins, the kids know to put away their supplies in their proper places on the shelves or in bins.

I have compiled a list of some of my favorite kid songs for you. Maybe you want to give this method a shot or maybe you’re ready for a little change to your normal clean up songs. Maybe you just want a good list of kid friendly songs to have around your classroom (you never know when a brain break or dance party might be needed). Whatever the reason, these songs will come in super handy in your classroom. Some are specific clean up songs while others are just songs that you and your students will love to listen to.

It’s Linked Up For You!

Like I said, I use songs that I have on CD because I don’t want to have to worry about technology snafus. But many of you are more tech savvy than I am and love to have everything digitally. So, I have linked each of the songs right to YouTube ™ so you have them at your fingertips!

Teacher Tip: If your students have what I like to call a technology coma and would get distracted by video on a screen, you can certainly just play the song and not show the video that goes with it.

I have linked each of the songs right to YouTube so you have them at your fingertips.
