This pack is filled with engaging math and literacy centers for Pre-K and Kindergarten students with a snow theme!
LITERACY CENTERS AND ACTIVITIES:
ABC Clip Cards (2 levels) – Clip the letter that matches the letter shown by the snowman. (Uppercase to Uppercase matching, and Uppercase to Lowercase matching options).
“Snow Day!” Emergent Reader (2 levels) – print a simple label style version or one with a predictable sentence pattern. Copy two-sided and cut in half for two books!
Snowflake Trace – Pick a snowflake card and say the letter name. Find and trace its match. * Both upper and lowercase letter options included.
Snowball CVC Trace (2 Levels) – Pick a snowball card and look at the picture. Find and trace the CVC word that matches.
*2 levels of play, 1 with picture support and 1 without. 4 different recording sheets (options with printing lines and with no lines).
Snowy Blends (2 levels) – L and R Blends – Pick a snowball card and say the picture name. Find and color the mitten with that beginning blend. *One option includes the written word on the cards with the blend highlighted for support.
Snowball Sight Words (Editable) – Use the snowball letters to build the sight words that the snowmen are holding. Write the words you build on the lines.
* Editable version included in the zip file to add any words you choose.
Snow Day Write It (Write the Room) – Pick a card (snow-related items). Find and record the word next to its matching picture on the recording sheet.
MATH CENTERS AND ACTIVITIES:
Snowman 10 and 20 Frame Clip Cards – Clip the number shown in the 10 and 20 frames (numbers 1-20).
Snowflake Addition Clip Cards (2 levels) – 1st level – clip the number that shows the total number of snowflakes . 2nd level – clip the equation shown by the picture. (addition to 5).
Snowy Ten Frames (Counting) – Pick a snowflake card and count the snowflakes. Color the ten frame that shows the same number of snowflakes.
Snowy Ten Frames (Addition to 10) – Pick a mitten card. Use two different colors to build the equation in the ten frames.
Where is Your Hat, Mr. Snowman? (addition to 5) – Pick a card and read the equation on the snowman’s hat. Solve the addition problem and color the snowman with the sum.
Where is Your Hat, Mr. Snowman? (Number Words to 10) – Pick a card and read the number word on the snowman’s hat. Color the snowman with the matching number.
Snowman/Snowflake Addition and Subtraction Puzzles – Match up the snowman ten frames to their addition equations. Match up the subtraction equations to the snowflake pictures.
Snowman Spin – Use a paperclip and a pencil to spin each snowman spinner. Add the numbers together (use the number line if needed) and color a mitten with the sum. (addition to 10)
Snowy Sums (dice) – Roll 2 dice. Count the dots and find the sum. Color the mitten with the total. (sums to 12)
Snowy Sums (dominoes) – Pick a domino (printable cards included). Count the dots and find the sum. Color the mitten with the total. (sums to 12)
10 and 20 frame counting mats – Use play dough, buttons, or any other small manipulative as counters in these snowman counting mats (1-20).
Snowflake Addition to 10/Missing Number Mats – read the number on each snowman and count how many are snowflakes already in the ten frame. Add more snowflakes until you reach your needed total. *** 4 printable worksheets included as recording sheets and supplemental practice with this skill at 2 levels (with equations and without).
Snowman Addition and Subtraction Mats – Use play dough, buttons, or any other small manipulative as counters to solve the addition and subtraction problems. Can laminate and use with dry-erase markers.
