Community Helpers Activities and Centers
This themed pack of community helpers activities includes 15 engaging math and literacy centers for working on uppercase and lowercase letter recognition, handwriting skills, sight words, counting, addition and subtraction, and lots more. Plus, they are a fun way to get your kids thinking and talking about what they want to be when they grow up!
Check out a few of the activities in this community helpers-themed resource pack below…
Dentist ABC’s
Strengthen letter recognition and handwriting skills in this Dentist ABC’s Letter Trace activity. Kids pick a dentist card, say the letter name, and then find and trace its match on the recording sheet.
This activity comes with both an uppercase and lowercase version so you can meet the needs of all your students!
Deliver the Mail
In Deliver the Mail, students can practice recognizing and identifying numbers while having fun coloring! They pick a card and read the number or number word. Then they find and color the mailbox that matches.
As a bonus… there are 2 levels included (numbers and number words to 10). It’s perfect for differentiation!
Alphabet Clip Cards
My students absolutely love clip cards and in this hands-on literacy center, they simply read the letter on the cards and clip the matching letter. It includes uppercase to uppercase and uppercase to lowercase matching options.
This is the perfect activity for strengthening both letter recognition and fine motor skills!
Pre-Writing Tracing Strips
In this simple and fun printable activity, students trace the lines from the community helpers to their vehicles. This can be trickier than it looks so this is great handwriting practice as the kids try to stay on the dotted lines.
Save paper and ink by either laminating the printables or slipping them into dry erase pocket sleeves for repeated use.
