How to use this Sorting Activity
Children should place the football subtraction cards in a pile facing down. When he/she draws a card from the pile, they will read the math problem then solve the subtraction equation.
When the student is confident in their answer, he/she will then place the football card underneath or on top of the football field goal that is the correct answer to the subtraction equation.
Variations of Play
- Place football cards on the table scattered about, face down
- Place football cards in a basket or grab bag
- Play with a partner and take turns picking football cards and solving the equations
- Race to the end goal with a partner and see who can solve the most equations in a minute
