My students get excited for any activity that gives them the chance to use fun coloring tools to write with. So I just knew they would love “writing letters” to our favorite snowman, Frosty! These free Snowman Alphabet Tracing Printables are a simple and fun way for early writers to work on uppercase and lowercase letter printing. It’s the perfect activity to add to your collection of winter literacy centers!

Snowman Alphabet Tracing Printables

I like to use these printables for morning work bins or as a literacy center activity, but you could also use them whole group, at home, or anytime you need a quick and fun way to get in some letter practice.

Begin by choosing whether you want your kiddos to work on uppercase or lowercase letters, or, if they are working on both, you can print this activity double-sided.

Get out some of your students’ favorite coloring tools like crayons, skinny markers, or colored pencils and it’s time to write!

For these alphabet tracing printables, get out some fun coloring tools like crayons to trace with.

How to Use the “Letters to Frosty” Printables

This activity is so simple and so fun! Students start by picking a coloring tool to write with. Then they randomly trace any letter they choose on the alphabet tracing printables.

I encourage them to say the letter name and sound while they trace, especially if I am working with them in a small group.

Turn these printables into a guided activity by playing “Letter Hunt” where you say the letter sound, and then the kids have to find the matching letter and trace it.

Teacher Tip: Laminate the printables and students can use dry erase markers to write with. Plus, the printables will be reusable!

Students randomly trace any letter they choose on the alphabet tracing printables.

These fun snowman alphabet printables are super easy and so engaging!
