Winter is settling in and this mama is ready for warm weather already. Does anyone else feel the same way about the cold? I absolutely love a pretty snowfall, but after the first couple snows I am ready for the warmth to return. The kids absolutely LOVE going out and playing in the snow. One of my favorite ways to engage my kids in the winter is by bringing the snow in from outside and using it for fun learning activities like this free Snow CVC Words Sensory Bin!

Supplies you will need:

  • CVC word cards printable below
  • Tray or bin
  • snow (can also use fake snow, salt, flour, or white sand)
  • paint brush

Laminate the page of CVC word cards and cut them out.

Tape each of the CVC words to the bottom of the bin or tray. You can just lay them on the tray, but they will move around a bit and can cause some frustration and mess so I highly recommend taping them down.

Cover the tray and cards with your “snow” cover of choice. If you use real snow, you will want to lay down some towels or have them handy for when the snow starts to melt.

How To Play

Once you have your tray all set up, take a paintbrush and gently brush away the snow until you find a CVC word card.
