Back to school season is upon us once again. I absolutely love this time of year and can’t help but think back to my time in elementary school because I loved going to school and looked forward to the first day of school with anticipation. I have such fond memories of my time in elementary school and I credit my awesome teachers for providing engaging and hands on activities that helped me have fun and learn. This School Bus Tracing Number Words activity is great for practicing writing and spelling number words in a fun hands-on way.

School Bus Tracing Number Words
Setting Up The Number Word Tracing Cards
Use these as a morning tub activity or place them in a math center.
They are perfect for your homeschool or traditional early childhood classroom setting. As a homeschool mom, I love putting these tracing cards into our morning basket that we go through and do after breakfast each morning.

How To Use This Activity
There are eleven cards to trace and a recording sheet for extra practice.
Students will use their dry erase marker to trace the number words on each of the bus cards.
I like to give them a tissue or old sock to use as an eraser so they can practice tracing the number words over and over as they choose.
Once the students finish tracing their number word cards, they can grab a pencil and the recording sheet to write (or trace if using the tracing sheet) the number words on the page.
ADDITIONAL PRACTICE: Use the second recording sheet to match the number word to the correct number.
Students will write or trace the number on the correct line.
- Use number manipulatives to match the number to the number tracing card.
- Spell out the number words using letter manipulatives.
