“Ready for a Beach Day” Printable Emergent Reader

This printable emergent reader contains sight words, picture supports, and predictive text patterns to support early readers and help build confidence. It covers fun beach themes like surfboards, sandcastles, and shells – just to name a few!

Prepping the reader couldn’t be easier. Simply print double-sided, cut in half, staple, and voila – you have two books ready to go!

This printable emergent reader covers fun summer themes like sunscreen and sunglasses.

How to Use the Emergent Reader

If you are using this reader in the classroom, it is great for guided reading groups!

I like to first introduce new readers in small groups so we can go over the vocabulary together. Then the students get to keep them in their individual book boxes for independent reading.

As a fun bonus, on the cover, instead of “Name,” each reader says “Colored by.” This makes the students feel extra proud as they color in the illustrations themselves and make the books their own!

At the end of the school year, you may choose to give this book to your students for an easy and engaging summer activity to do at home.

They could even take it with them on a beach vacation to read and color!

Your students will love coloring the pictures and making the book their own.

But the best part is that no matter how you choose to use this book, it will help build confidence in your early readers and they can proudly show off their reading progress!
