Making the Patriotic Slime
Ready to get started on making this red, white, and blue slime that your kids will love? Follow the steps below and get ready for some serious stretchy, slimy, sensory fun!
In two separate small bowls, combine 1/4 cup of glue with 1/4 cup of warm water and mix well.
Mix in a few drops of blue food coloring to one bowl and a few drops of red to the other bowl.
Then add about a 1/2 tablespoon of glitter to each and mix each until they are evenly combined.
Add 1/2 teaspoon of borax into a 3/4 cup of hot water and stir for about a minute, letting the borax dissolve.
Now divide the borax water evenly and pour half the borax water into your blue glue mixture and stir, and half into the red glue mixture and stir (ingredients should start clumping together, but you will have a little leftover water).
Remove the slime and knead the slime with your hands for a couple of minutes.
Teacher Tip: When kids play with the slime, you may want to lay out disposable cloths underneath if they are rubbing it or stretching it into a tabletop surface, as it does contain food coloring. Have fun!
