Ice Cream Alphabet Matching Game
This alphabet matching game for Pre-K and Kindergarten makes a fun, hands-on literacy center or small group activity. And prep is so easy!
Simply print out the ice cream scoop letter cards and laminate them for durability and reuse. Provide each student with an ice cream letter recording sheet and you’re all set to play!
Teacher Tip: If you play in a small group, you can share the ice cream scoops so you only need one set.
How to Play
In a small group we take turns picking an ice cream scoop letter card and saying the name and sound of the uppercase letter on them. “C – /k/k/k/”
Then it’s time to find the lowercase letter that matches! After locating the matching lowercase letter ice cream cone on the recording sheet, we color it in. Then we pick another card and keep going until we match up all of the letters!
If your students are ready to play independently, just place the ice cream scoop letter cards in a small basket. Add some crayons and copies of the recording sheet and you have a fun, easy-prep literacy center!
