Friday means Five for Friday! I am linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for the weekly linky party! Surprisingly I made it to my blog two other times this week for a post on Counting Collections and then October Currently – a miracle!
Here are five things from my week – have you linked up to share yours?
There are things on my CAFE board now – woo hoo! We are learning and moving along! I love Daily 5 and I also use CAFE. The Emergent Reader Menu is great for Kindergarten. You can grab the headings as a freebie here.
My cards are hand written… shudder… but hey, such is life! Plus it doesn’t hurt for the little friends to see me model handwriting and creating something with them!
This picture is a phone picture from a training I was at this week…. it is blurry yes but if you don’t personally know the mermaid even in her blurriness then “Houston, we have a problem”. 🙂 The mermaid and I (aka, Starbucks) are besties as of late. Clif there has been lending a hand also. I swear I live on them. I know that isn’t the healthiest – but I figure I could do worse. sigh.
I love, love this picture I took of one of my kinder’s counting collection form. This week I taught them a strategy for counting scatters on paper so that they don’t recount. She remembered! She checked off her counting to double check! I did a post on counting collections this week and included a recording form freebie!
I have been working on a sight word interactive book pack for awhile and still haven’t finished it. I keep getting distracted, but I need to get on it because the words we need coming up in kinder I haven’t made yet! We learned our first sight word today (We start school 2nd week of September here in kinder – don’t worry, I do teach them!!) and did the book for the sight word “a” That one is a freebie you can grab here.
