These number mini-books are a perfect hands-on resource for Pre-K but could also be used as review in Kindergarten. They are great for whole group instruction, small groups, and math centers.

How to Use the Mini-Books

Mini-books are so easy to prep! My favorite part is that no staples are required. Simply fold the pages long ways and short ways to make your mini-books.

If I am having my kiddos do the folding, I like to tell them to fold their papers “hot dog style” and “hamburger style.” This makes for great folding practice!

My favorite way to use these mini-books is in our math centers. In this case, I like to fold them ahead of time and pair them with some crayons, markers, or colored pencils.

Depending on the skill level of my students I may only add a couple number books at a time.

The students get to color their mini-books, which is great fine motor skills practice. When they are done coloring them they can “read” their books to a partner.

Partner work is so rewarding and encourages children to do their best work.
