Printable Preschool Number Books
These mini books are suitable for preschool and could also be used as review for kindergarten. You can use these mini books as a center activity, morning start work, or send for homework.
Assembly
My favorite thing about these mini books is no staples are required! You simply fold the pages long ways and short ways to make your mini book.
We also call this method, “fold it hotdog length and then fold it hamburger length.”
Partner Reading
One of my favorite ways to use these printable mini books is partner reading.
Place the mini book pages in your math center. Based on skill level, you might only put out one or two books at a time.
Include some fun coloring tools like colored pencils or markers to encourage creativity.
After children have finished coloring their books, they can then “read” the books to a partner.
Not only does this activity help with counting and number identification, but it builds confidence in your early learners.
Partner work is so rewarding and encourages children to do their “best work.”
Grab a Book and Count
Place a full set of mini books, numbers 0-5 in your math center. Encourage children to complete all 5 books.
Note: This may take a couple of rounds at the math center before all the books are completed.
Once completed, children can place their number mini books in a basket and then shake up the basket.
Students will then ask a friend to reach in the basket to grab one out and read aloud one of their friend’s books.
