It’s Friday!!! I say that with super excitement, however I am perhaps the person with the most uneventful Friday nights ever. I think that Mr. Rogers would have a more rockin’ evening in his neighborhood than I ever do on a Friday night. I always have grand ideas of doing something fun, but then my husband and I are both so tired from the week that we just go “maybe next week…” and go to bed. Truth!
But my big event this week is linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for Five for Friday!
It was the 10th day of school for us in kindergarten! Every ten days we have a counting collections day! I have cups filled with various items that students count and record with their partners. Right now our cups contain 1-20 items, and over time they increase until we are using larger containers and counting 100! It is such a fun way to count and doing it “on the tens” makes it a regular activity. I learn a TON about students through watching them in this process.
You can see in this pic just a few of the items I used. Many of them I grabbed at the dollar store! Even the rocks haha. Someone in line behind me asked if I had a lot of fish at home or something. I am not making this up!
This past weekend was the Alzheimer’s walk in my area. My family walks every year for my grandma, “Granny” who has Alzheimer’s. It is always a powerful thing to see other people come together to work toward supporting research and finding a cure.
Well, I may still be getting used to back to school, but Tank certainly isn’t. He graced Instagram this week with his “yeah see you later have fun at work while I nap here on your furniture” pose.
That’s it for now! I guess a number six (is that allowed?) would be that I FINALLY posted my classroom reveal! yay!
How was your week? Link up and share!!
