Happy Friday! (at 11:36 pm on Thursday night, but it is almost Friday so that counts right?) What a crazy busy week in kindergarten! I need a nap. Or three. I love linking up for Five for Friday with Doodlebugs Teaching – such a fun way to end the week!
We have been on an interesting words kick in kindergarten! It all started when I used the word “efficiently” when I wanted them to transition from one place to the next. Now they say “efficiently” every chance they get! They also point out new and interesting words in our stories, so we started a pocket chart! Nothing fancy, and I haven’t illustrated the cards or anything, but it does get them thinking about ways to use these words. I was at a writing training recently about modeling higher vocabulary in our conversations with young learners. It really does make learning fun for them and develops their skills in creative writing! Plus, who doesn’t feel fancy in kindergarten to use the word “efficiently?” 🙂
We did some Groundhog Day opinion writing last week with a freebie from Gina Peluso that we hung up this week with a groundhog craft, and this one cracks me up every time. Look at the exclamation point above the groundhog when he sees his shadow!! Ha! I love kindergarten.
How was YOUR week? Are you ready for the weekend? Link up or share in the comments!
