Fall Leaf Letter Match

This free printable letter matching set includes 26 uppercase leaf cards and a recording sheet. The recording sheet is full of lowercase letter leaves.

To prep, print the recording sheet and make enough copies for your little learners. Print the colorful leaf letter cards on cardstock or laminate the set for extra durability. Then cut the leaf letter cards apart on the gray dotted lines.

Lastly, put all of the leaf letter cards in a basket. It’s time to play!

How to Play

In my classroom, I prefer to go over our small group, table top activities during circle time. I like to introduce our activities, so that when the group comes to the table, they have an idea of what’s going to happen. After that, individual alphabet skills are worked on according to the current group.

To play, pick a leaf letter card from the basket. Say the name of the letter on the leaf. Find the matching lowercase letter on the recording sheet. Color in the leaf.

Next, pick another leaf card and play again until all of the cards are picked and all of the leaves are colored in.

To encourage more hesitant learners to get through all of the letters, use a bingo dotter instead of a crayon to color the leaves as they are matched!

Printable activities like this can be used in more than one way. Print 2 sets of the leaf letter cards and play a matching game like Memory. Spell names, sight words, or simple CVC words too!

Pair this alphabet activity with your other fall-themed learning!
