In Pre-K and Kindergarten, we can never have enough activities to practice fine motor skills and learning our names! But name practice and strengthening little hand and finger muscles doesn’t have to be complicated or overwhelming to prep for. This easy fine motor sticker activity is perfect for the first days of school or any time of the year!

Easy Fine Motor Sticker Activity
Here’s a simple and effective activity for the first week of school – sticker names! There is very little prep to this activity and it can be used in small groups, centers, or as a fun option for early finishers!
Follow these simple steps to ensure that this fine motor sticker activity flows smoothly!
How to Prep
Start by cutting 5 x 7 (or just small – doesn’t have to be exact) pieces of paper. The point is to NOT make the paper too big. Little hands tire quickly, especially this early in the school year and starting small will help your kiddos to be successful!
Next, write the first letter of your students’ names on the papers with black marker. I recommend starting with just the first letter of their name. Full names can come later when students have stronger finger muscles and more stamina.

Time for Sticker Fun!
Give each student a half sheet of stickers. Model how students should peel one sticker at a time and carefully place it on the black marker line of their letter.
They can continue peeling and sticking in a line until their whole letter is filled up. At the end of the activity, students can flip over their paper and use up the rest of the stickers on the back!
This easy fine motor sticker activity can even be added to your math and literacy centers! Simply write any numbers or letters on the papers. You could even draw shapes for kids to work on!
Will you give this sticker activity a try? I’d love to know!
