Cookies Color Sorting

Identify and sort colors PLUS work those fine motor skills by “decorating” the cookies with “sprinkles”.

Provide “sprinkles” – it can be any small round object like mini pom poms, buttons, beads etc. Simply add a small tweezer/tongs, to pick items up for fine motor practice too!

Laminate the sheet or use a dry-erase pocket to make this printable reusable.

You can also use it with play dough if you wish, letting the children roll small balls of dough to fill the picture.

Picking up small items like pom poms or beads with a plastic tweezer require fine motor muscles, hand-eye coordination and concentration to place the item just right.

Side-note: do lay down the rules with small items like these so it does not land up in noses or ears! Not recommended for young kids!

More Ways to Play!

Turn this cookie color sorting activity into a game between friends.

Print an extra copy and place in the middle of the players.

Then take turns to close eyes (no peeking) and press down to touch a cookie.

Fill the color cookie you touched and try to fill the cookies.

First player with “full” cookies wins!

This game will also help students to develop spatial orientation- where to press to touch a certain color and also memory- remembering where a certain color was.
