How to Use these Clip Cards
I would suggest using these clips cards in a math center, small group or send home as homework.
If you have access to a laminator, you can laminate the clips cards for use over and over again.
Watch for my tips below if you don’t have access to a laminator or if you’re simply looking for a different way to use this printable in your classroom.
Math Center
Place the Colorful Gems Count and Clips Cards in a basket or grab bag in your math center.
Include a variety of clothespins for children to use for this activity.
Children are asked to count the gems on each card and then clip a clothespin on the number that represents how many gems are on the card. The activity continues until all cards have been clipped.
Tip: children can ask a buddy to check their work for them.
Variations
If you don’t have clothespins or want other options for using these clip cards then you might consider one of the following:
- Use dry erase markers to color in the correct number on the bottom of the card (laminated clip cards)
- Students can use crayons to circle the correct number on the bottom of the card (paper clip cards that aren’t laminated)
- Students can use a dot sticker to place on the correct number on the bottom of the card (paper clip cards that aren’t laminated)
