Around here, we definitely feel winter! Today in fact, we had some snow, and temperatures have even dropped into the 20’s! While we do get the winter feeling here, I know not all places get to experience it, so we try to add in some fun winter twists to our learning to share with you when the season strikes. After we come back to school from Christmas vacation, it’s the perfect time to have our winter centers and activities all prepped and ready to go.
These 21 totally cool (yes, I had to say it!) winter centers are a great way for Pre-K and Kindergarten students to work on letters, sounds, sight words, numbers, addition, subtraction, shapes, and so much more! Grab them in our Teachers Pay Teachers store, or snag the HUGE Centers for the Year Bundle and Save BIG!
21 Winter Centers and Activities
Coming back from Christmas break can be a little rough (extra coffee, anyone?) so it’s really nice to have my math and literacy centers totally ready to go.
It saves me a ton of time – and it saves my sanity too! Plus, since these centers are for both Pre-K and Kindergarten, it means there are differentiation options as well!
The math activities in this pack provide tons of print and play fun, including:
- 10 and 20 frame clip cards
- Subitizing practice
- Addition within 5 and 10
- Counting sets to 12
- 10 and 20 frame puzzles
- Subtraction within 5
- Fun with shapes
- Base ten blocks and place value
- Tally marks
The literacy activities are a blast too! Add these fun activities to your lesson plans:
- CVC clip cards
- Emergent reader
- Printing practice
- Letter recognition
- Beginning sounds
- Sight words
- Short vowels
- Colors and color words
For your convenience, all of the color items also come in black and white!
This helps you save ink – just print on colored paper for a fun twist if you like to make the games stand out a bit more.
