Today is the last post for Blog Hoppin’s Week of Giving Thanks, and today’s letter is S.
I am thankful for smiles! I am definitely a person who expresses their thoughts on their face (this is sometimes a curse) and I really do feel like a smile can say a thousand words. Here is my smile story:
Once, about a year or so ago, I was at the local grocery store shopping. I was walking up the aisles like normal and passed by an elderly man. I smiled as I walked by. No big deal, right? I kept going about my business and didn’t think twice about it. Except that man called out to me. I turned around, wondering if I had dropped something, and he said “Miss, thank you very much for the smile. It was very kind of you.”
It actually brought tears to my eyes that day and ever since then I have made it a personal goal to smile more often! You never know how someone’s day is going. Maybe your smile can brighten it.
So as we go back to school on Monday, even if we are tired and wishing break were a bit longer, maybe we can greet our kiddos with smiles and let their smiles brighten our day too!
What are you thankful for?
