These sparkly CD ornaments are a great way to recycle old CDs while making some beautiful garden art! I love how kids can make something so pretty while developing important fine-motor skills. These ornaments can add a touch of colorful whimsy to the garden, but they also look stunning on display in a window. This is a quick and easy project – perfect for those small pockets of time when kids may want to make something fun and sparkly!

These sparkly CD ornaments are a great way to recycle old CDs while making some beautiful garden art with your kids! Simple to make and they look beautiful.

To make a sparkly CD garden ornament of your own, you will need:

Invite your kids to use tacky glue to attach the gems and sequins onto the CD as desired. I like to use a tray or an old baking sheet to contain the mess. Allow to dry, then repeat the process on the other side of the CD. Once both sides are completely dry, add some cotton string for hanging the ornament on display.

Note — For an even quicker version, invite students to decorate the printed side of the CD and leave the other side as is.

Seeing these sparkly garden ornaments proudly displayed in our yard always makes me smile! When the sun shines on them, they look so beautiful! These ornaments would be lovely handmade gifts that kids can make for family or friends too. The tacky glue holds up quite well to any outdoor wear and tear. Ours were still going strong several months later.
