Circus Alphabet Puzzles

One of the skills I am working on with my son is matching uppercase and lowercase letters. He, however, does not like regular worksheets and needs his tasks to be as interactive and as fun as possible. These Circus Alphabet Puzzles more than met those requirements.

To prep the puzzles, first, print the cards on cardstock for durability. Laminate them for reuse and then cut the puzzles out with either scissors or a paper trimmer.

Place the lowercase pieces in a small basket or pile and the uppercase pieces in another basket or pile.

Add the letter pieces to two small baskets for kids to choose from and make matches.

How to Play

Have your child choose an uppercase piece from the basket and begin searching for the lowercase match!

My son searched and searched until he found a match. I am pretty sure he enjoyed the challenge of going through all 26 lowercase pieces to find the correct one.

To make this activity a bit more manageable, the pieces can be given in sets. For example, set 1 could be A-M and set 2 could be N-Z. You could even break the sets down even further depending on the level of your child.

Once your child has mastered the letters in one set, you could give the next set of letters.

Students will match the uppercase circus cards with the lowercase circus cards.

This activity is such a fun, easy, and effective way to work on letter recognition with your kids!
