I love stories that depict kindness and friendship, and this story does that with a fun, seasonal theme.

The Biggest Pumpkin Ever by Steven Kroll

The Biggest Pumpkin Ever two mice work together to win the town pumpkin contest.

The Littlest Pumpkin will make your children want to pick out a pumpkin that maybe "looks lonely" to take home.

The littlest pumpkin has big dreams for Halloween. She would love to be taken home and made into a jack-o-lantern, but no one has picked her yet! The days are passing and she is still at the farm, sad and thinking no one will ever choose her. However, there is a happy ending to this tale! My students get really into this story, and they feel for the pumpkin and want her to get chosen so badly! After this story, don’t be surprised if your children want to pick out a pumpkin that maybe “looks lonely.” 🙂

  1. We, me and my 5 year old twins, recently checkout out Too many pumpkins. Super cute and it really kept them interested. Easy post book discussion.

  2. This new children’s pumpkin book is really cute. It’s called The Perfect Pumpkin by Teandra Knapp. It’s about a mother and daughter at a pumpkin patch looking for the perfect pumpkin. They learn a valuable lesson, that people are like pumpkins in many ways. It reminds us we are all different and unique and we should encourage each others differences. Great illustrations as well.
